New Collection – South African Landscapes

Table Mountain with Wachendorhia oil on birch wood 122 x 210 cm

Arabella’s latest body of work, South African Landscapes, was created in and around Cape Town. It includes vistas of False Bay, views of Table Mountain from Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, the open spaces of the Karoo and the vast Oteniqua and Tsisikama mountain ranges of the Garden Route.

Says Arabella about this collection: “Nature and the wildernesses of our planet are not only essential to maintaining a balance ecologically but also provide a place where the increasingly fractured nervous system of man, caused by the stress of contemporary, particularly urban life can be healed and restored.

By spending time in these inspiring and magnificent natural environments and capturing in a painting their essence, I hope to create something that is soothing and healing, a window to a world where the imagination can roam freely with out anxiety or fear.  I firmly believe that it is through an honest and mindful interaction with nature that man can find balance, peace and happiness.”

"Each work is simply a point on a journey – a journey which is an attempt at, a quest in search of truth. A goal which is both mysterious and highly illusive. It is a quest that will preoccupy me for the rest of my life."
