Arabella adds new work to Portrait Collection

Journal entry Portraits

Arabella has added two new bodies of work to her Portrait collection that are part of a series based on characters from Shakespeare’s plays. The two new paintings are of Hermione from A Winter’s Tale and Portia from Merchant Of Venice with Arabella planning on adding to the collection over the next year.

Hermione –  “I am not prone to weeping….
But have that honorable grief lodged here which burns worse than tears drown.”

The Winter’s Tale Act 2, Scene 1 line 110

Portia –
”The quality of mercy is not strained. It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven upon the place beneath. It is twice blest: It blessesth him that gives and him that takes.”

Merchant of Venice Act 4 scene 1

"Each work is simply a point on a journey – a journey which is an attempt at, a quest in search of truth. A goal which is both mysterious and highly illusive. It is a quest that will preoccupy me for the rest of my life."
