Arabella’s “Being” painting goes on auction for charity SAEP at 2012 JDI Ball

“Being” from Arabella’s latest collection of the same name, was one of the main auction items at the 2012 Cape Town JDI ball held on Saturday 25 August at Kelvin Grove. The event raised R175,000 in aid of the South Africa Education and Environment Project (SAEP).

SAEP’s seven programs reach over 2,400 children, youth and education providers – helping to bring quality education to Cape Town’s townships. SAEP addresses a broad spectrum of educational needs, from providing tools for struggling preschools to achieve sustainability, arts and environmental programs, mobile laptop labs to teach computer skills, to helping graduates access and succeed in university.

"Each work is simply a point on a journey – a journey which is an attempt at, a quest in search of truth. A goal which is both mysterious and highly illusive. It is a quest that will preoccupy me for the rest of my life."
